Colin Kaslow has been a personal trainer since graduating from The University of Texas in 1999 with a B.S. in Kinesiology. He provides health/fitness services for his personal training clients while also working in conjunction with D.C. Robert Meyer as a corrective exercise specialist at a Spinal Rehab clinic in Austin, TX. The FMS is a superior tool that allows him to assure that each individuals fitness and/or rehabilitative needs are addressed properly and successfully. Put simply, the FMS is a ranking and grading system that documents movement patterns that are key to normal function. By screening these patterns, the FMS readily identifies functional limitations and asymmetries. These are issues that can reduce the effects of functional training and physical conditioning and distort body awareness. The FMS generates the Functional Movement Screen Score, which is used to target problems and track progress. This scoring system is directly linked to the most beneficial corrective exercises to restore mechanically sound movement patterns. The FMS score is monitored to track progress and to identify those exercises that will be most effective to restore proper movement and build strength in each individual. A love and passion for helping others is the inspiration and reward for Colin as a trainer. Colin has enjoyed a career competing in professional beach volleyball tournaments when not at work, as well as spending time with his family here in Austin, TX.
